Dave Swiecicki Photography

Dave photo websiteEven while immersed in music for more than a decade as keyboardist and guitar player for Winnipeg hard rock outfit Jet Set Satellite, photographer Dave Swiecicki’s sense of composition, atmosphere and texture conjured rich, cinematic visuals possessing both resonant subtlety and moving drama. The camera now his instrument of choice, Dave’s unbridled passion to be creative has driven him to spend endless hours in the field quickly amassing an impressive portfolio and a breathtaking visual aesthetic inspired by everything from the films of Stanley Kubrick to the print design of Saul Bass.

Dave Swiecicki’s creations come alive at his studio. Dave has taken up painting, creating heavily textured abstract pieces that express emotions that cannot be found in his photography. Dave began exploring the realm of video in 2010 and has produced, directed, shot and edited music videos for Keith McPherson, Jarrett Lobley, The Amadians, Dark Mourning, The Perms and Toque (project featuring members from Shash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and Shania Twain). He has also collaborated with other artists and filmmakers on music videos, artist promotional and conceptual videos, and wedding videos.

Elena El

Morning. You sip coffee while scrolling through social media posts. You see exotic places, far away people. And then suddenly, something looks familiar. Yes, it is an image of your neighbourhood; sunshine, tall trees, that interesting building at the corner of the street, the man that looks just like your neighbour walking his dog.

This picture makes you feel good. It makes you feel proud of the beautiful place you live in – Winnipeg. You like it and you want to share it with others.’

Elena El is a fine artist specializing in Winnipeg cityscape paintings. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas. She is a member of Assiniboia Group of Artists Cooperative.

Elena’s paintings have been featured on CBC National TV, CBC Manitoba Scene, Breakfast TV Winnipeg, Winnipeg Free Press, WHERE Winnipeg.
