Christopher Chuckry is an artist and visual storyteller, best known for colouring comic books and creating political cartoons. Formative years spent in isolated rural surroundings allowed plenty of room for imagination and dreaming. Generally quiet and reserved, Chris uses pictures and stories to interpret his interests and observations.
Stories and characters are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Society evolves and marches on but the myths, monsters and fairytales remain there, beneath the surface. If you look closely you see these archetypes surrounding us, lending colour to our lives and relationships. Using a personal lens to interpret some popular and lesser known myths, monsters and fairytales, he invites you to take a closer look at those archetypes in your own life. Or maybe look at the old characters and stories with a fresh eye. Myths, Monsters and Fairytales is the third solo exhibition by local artist Chris Chuckry.
